Biblical Worldview

God's Word as our lens

bible.jpg

CCS's Bible curriculum integrates the Bible, core Christians beliefs, and Christian behaviors. Students will learn head knowledge, heart knowledge, and how to apply biblical truths to their lives. Students will also engage in experiential learning as they survey the Old and New Testaments. The scope and sequence build upon foundational biblical knowledge in the early years and develop deeper theological understanding, historical context, and application through special guests, trips, and activities.

Lower School Integration

Beginning in preschool, students are taught core academic standards, virtues, and character development using stories from the Bible and other learning resources. From an early age, Jesus is introduced to our students through age-appropriate lessons and mediums.

As students progress through lower school, they learn about the men and women God used throughout the Old and New Testaments. Scripture is committed to mind and heart through repetition and song. Bible is taught as a subject area of study as well as integrated into all other subjects. Core Christian doctrine lays the foundation for Upper School biblical disciplines as our students mature spiritually.

Upper School Integration

In middle school, students begin an in-depth study of the Old and New Testaments. Starting with an overview of the Bible, Creation, and early World History, students gain an understanding of the early Church, the life and ministry of Jesus, and explore historical culture and context. Students continue the practice of scripture memorization.

High school students build on this by applying biblical teachings to modern life. Students examine the infallibility of the Bible and how the Bible informs a Christian worldview. Current cultural and other issues are explored from a biblical perspective.

The process of personal and spiritual growth is thoughtfully stewarded. Opportunities for questions, meditation, and reflection are encouraged as students apply biblical standards and lessons in and out of the classroom.
