Lower School K-5

formative Years

Our elementary program begins in kindergarten, where foundational academics are laid, and each school year builds on the previous year's instruction. All elementary grades incorporate:

  • An emphasis on Godly character

  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Hands-on activities to reinforce topics
  • Educational field trips
  • Morning and afternoon recess

PROVERBS 16:16

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.

Kindergarten student and teacher review a lesson one-on-one

Kindergarten introduces basic academics: reading, writing, and mathematics. Bible, science, social studies, creative writing/journaling, and fine arts and gym round out the students’ day.

We implement:

  • Phonics-based curriculum

  • Activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills

  • Cursive writing instruction

  • Basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, telling time, and counting money

From first grade on, our teachers and staff continue to build on these foundations. As students progress through elementary grade levels, they are encouraged in a love of learning that emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, logical reasoning, communication, and discovery, based upon God's Word as the source for all wisdom, understanding, and truth.
