Kindergarten

Children have been created by God with a natural desire to explore and learn. Our kindergarten program at CCS, designed to capture their curiosity, creatively introduces formal schooling to five and six year old children.

The CCS’ Kindergarten Program serves as an extension of the home, by providing a foundation in kindergarten that will be built on in the school years that follow. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to assist the class as teacher helpers, field trip chaperones and prayer warriors. We believe the classroom experience should reinforce parental training at home.

Our kindergarten program meets three days a week at our two campuses and has a class maximum of 20 students. The morning hours focus on reading and language arts from a phonics approach. Kindergartners are frequently read to and immersed in a literature-rich environment, expanding sights and sounds of letters and words. Devotional time, math, art, music, gym and creative play fill up a kindergartner’s day.

The development of Christian character is encouraged as children interact with one another. Respect for God, adults and others is emphasized. The Bible is the final authority and point of reference for all things educational and otherwise. Our goal is to integrate biblical truth into all subjects, teaching students to appreciate the sovereignty of Christ over all creation.
