PROGRAM OVERVIEW

     Welcome to the new Volunteer and Compensation (VAC) program! Formerly known as the Family Service Program, this program connects willing and able parents with areas of CCS that could use some extra help.

 

     In order to keep maintenance and staffing costs (and therefore tuition) at a minimum, CCS relies on the willingness of many parents and grandparents to donate time and skills to the school. In the past, either an annual service fee or a number of completed service hours was required from each family. This year, there is a significant change. Each family pays a $150 service fee up front and then has the opportunity to earn the money back by working in the various areas of need throughout the school. For some families, an assessed fee is the most convenient and practical way to help with these costs, while others will prefer to spend some time staying involved at the school. Thus, no family is required to work at the school, but the option is available to each family.

 

     There is a great variety of “jobs” available under this program. Most jobs are compensated at the rate of $7/hour, while some are of a larger scale and paid a flat sum. Payments will go out to families at the end of each quarter for the completed hours. At this point, CCS can only compensate up to $150 per family. We hope that many will continue to help in their area on a volunteer basis once the pay has capped off. Many parents have always enjoyed volunteering in their child’s classroom or helping on field trips, and CCS is continually grateful for these generous gifts of time.
